The setting summarised

A Harvest Dance will take place during an in-game traditional celebration of Faekind that occurs each 12 generations. It is meant to celebrate the existence and grandeur of stories and Fae power. It is an occasion to meet old and new aquaintances, to dwell in ones lusts and desires in abundant company. The Harvest Dance is held at one of the ancient Fae groves surrounding The Waking Tree, an entity that Fae draw their power and existence from.

Different Kin from different cultural backgrounds will gather to celebrate - but also to face the lurking downfall of human faith in Fairytales and Stories and the threat it poses to Fae's existence. Each Fae will have to decide for themselves on how to continue on after the dance - stories, as they were, are changing and it is up to the characters of this larp to change with them, to force their will on humankind or to simply cease existing to the tunes of a beautiful last song.

Some characters will be human playthings, the Foundling, that are kept as pets, children or servants. Most characters will be Fae. The event is set to take place in the mid 19th century.

Note: The plot focus for this LARP will lie mostly on personal relations and drama, but also on the overarching crisis that portrays the frame for the in-game gathering.

What we expect from you
  • That you have read our Code of Conduct and agree to it.

  • That you will read or listen to our Design Document before the larp starts. This has a very practical reason – we don't want to spend most of our workshop time briefing you on a document we can give to you beforehand. So instead, we'll provide the Design Document in written and audio form so you can go through it beforehand. The Design document will be released before Casting.

  • That you try and engage with us and your fellow players on the participant discord (an online platform) beforehand. We don't expect you to keep up with the spam or to be active every day – but please do check in, reach out to fellow players even just for a quick exchange. We cannot make this larp with people who we hear nothing from until the day of arrival. We as organisers are spending our every day life on this, we expect our participants to invest a little bit of time as well.
This is very loose and is meant to say: You might not enjoy the larp if you do not engage with us at all beforehand. You are an adult and we cannot force you but please, give something back. Don't ghost us until the day the larp happens. 😉

  • That you take initiative for your own fun. If you think you lack a certain relation, make it. If you want a certain kind of plot, add it. Take care of your own well-being and be active in seeking help and creating play for yourself and others. We are doing this together, not us doing it all for you.

Corona, the fucker

Due to the pandemic being an ongoing menace, this event will be hosted for only the following people:

  • People who have a valid vaccination against Covid-19. This might include booster shots.

  • People who have recently recovered from Covid-19.

We might require everyone to provide a negative test upon arrival, we will inform you of this in advance. Common regulations will apply as to how recent a recovery or your last shot must be.

We have no interest in your participation if you refuse to get vaccinated. And frankly, we think that's pretty uncool of you.
